Sailing in Tierra del Fuego in Winter - Testimonial

Wow, just wow! Brian and I had no idea what a spectacular treat we were in for when we decided to go to the Fuegian channels in the middle of Austral winter. It was easily the most beautiful trip I've ever taken and I did not want to leave.
Sailing with Wolf Kloss and Janet was an extraordinary experience in so many ways. First, as people they are wonderful - easy, fun, and intelligent. As sailors, I would trust them with a journey of any length in any circumstance. Wolf seems to know each and every navigable corner of those channels and took us to gorgeous bays, on wonderful hikes, and through some very tricky spots with outstanding rewards. Wolf's tremendous experience with sailing and mountain climbing was apparent at every moment.
The Santa Maria Australis is an incredible vessel, ample and luxurious even. Not to mention it's pretty to look at and handles so well. It was well heated and what a music collection! Dear lord, they even had hot showers!
I'd highly recommend cruising the channels in winter, dressing warmly and staying outside as much as possible (keep your books at home!) With so few other travelers out we had the channels all to ourselves and the silence and beauty was astounding.

Hallo zusammen,
bin gestern dem 9.3.09 heile in Düsseldorf gelandet!!!
Es war ein mehr als guter Segeltörn!
Ich werde dieses Abenteuer nie vergessen.
Expedition-Antarktis ist eines der größten Abenteuer die ich je erfuhren
durfte! Es ist kaum in Worte zusammen zu fassen.....!!!
Man muß es selber erleben....!!!
